For Authors

WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR 2016 UNLESS YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE ON THE WAITING LIST

Any and all published Wisconsin authors are invited to be a part of the first annual Wisconsin Author Festival!

Details:

There is a $15 registration fee for the event.

This fee will be used to cover printing and advertising

costs as well as refreshments and door prizes that will be given away throughout the afternoon.

Authors are given the opportunity to donate two books: one to be added to the library’s collection (if we don’t already own it!) and another to be given away as part of a door prize. This is a suggestion and is not

mandatory.

Authors may volunteer to be a part of our Q&A panel which will take place at 4PM.

Registered authors will be placed at a labeled table where they

may sell and sign books and mingle with readers.

Tables will be located in the library’s atrium, Conference Room and Constitution Room.

These rooms are all within feet of each other and should have a lot of

foot-traffic.

Since space is at a premium, authors with one published book will share a 60 inch table with another author. You may request to share a table with a specific author if you wish.

Authors are responsible for their own sales (be they cash or credit

card) and accompanying items. Authors may decorate their tables (and possibly the wall space behind the table) however they wish and may give out whatever promotional goodies they like.

Set-up will begin at 12 PM. Again, space will be at a premium!

To participate in 2016’s Festival, each author must include the form on the next page along with a $15 check written to the West Allis Public Library. Please include “WI Author Festival” on the Memo line.

The Festival is currently open to Wisconsin authors only since our space is limited. Authors who live in other states may contact us via the emails below two weeks prior to the event to inquire about availability. If we still have space, we will accept authors from outside the state at that time.
